As an advocate of safe teen driving, The Suburban Collection was proud to offer two prize vehicles as the Hole-in-One Sponsor at this year’s Swing for Safe Teen Driving Golf Tournament, hosted by the Be Responsible and Keep Everyone Safe (B.R.A.K.E.S.) Foundation.
Founded by Doug Herbert, an NHRA drag racing star, the foundation provides training and education to teenagers and their parents about the importance of safe driving.
After losing his two sons in a fatal highway collision, Herbert was moved to teach young men and women life-saving driving exercises, such as panic braking, car control/skid recovery, and crash avoidance, among others. To date, over 35,000 teenagers have attended the B.R.A.K.E.S. program.
All proceeds from the tournament went to the B.R.A.K.E.S Foundation. As a non-profit 501 (c)3 charity, teenagers and parents who are interested in attending the B.R.A.K.E.S. Teen Pro-Active Driving School can enjoy the training free of charge. As such, events like Swing for Safe Teen Driving Golf Tournament allow the foundation to cover the costs necessary to educate teenagers all over the country.
