On June 11th, the 9th Annual Garden Party event was held at Meadow Brook Hall & Gardens in Rochester, Michigan. Individuals, families, and friends flocked to the event, dressed to the nines in attire that really captured the essence of the afternoon.

Surrounded by flowers, wine, and hors d’oeuvres, attendees enjoyed food that was prepared by over 20 local restaurants, sipped over 100 different varieties of wine, and took pictures with a display of classic, stunningly preserved cars. The purpose of the event was not only to provide a beautiful landscape for attendees to enjoy while they socialized, or even a pleasing experience for the palate thanks to the food and wine vendors, it was an opportunity for locals to support a cause greater than themselves.

For the past nine years, The Garden Party Foundation has been hosting these events as a way to raise funds for young adult scholarships. They believe that education is the tool that will provide opportunities for these young adults to create a sustainable and meaningful life for themselves, one laden with purpose, creativity, and financial security. In order to promote these opportunities, they raise funds that are donated to trade schools and culinary schools so that scholarships can be given to those who want to pursue a trade yet lack the financial means to support that dream.

Throughout 2017, these proceeds will go directly to Oakland Community College Culinary Studies Institute and North Central Michigan College’s CNC Programs.

While they hold events throughout the year, The Suburban Collection was honored to be a sponsor for their garden party that took place on June 11th. Approximately, 700 attend the annual southeast Michigan event to raise funds that will be distributed to the various organizations listed above!

We love The Garden Party Foundation’s mission and their unique contributions that work to support a subset of the local community in reaching goals that may have otherwise seemed unattainable. The Suburban Collection and I are proud to sponsor such a caring, active organization!
