The Suburban Collection recently served as a primary presenter of the Jumanji Film Premier Fundraiser to benefit Hospice of Michigan’s Pediatric Hospice Program. The event was held at the Emagine Theater in Royal Oak, Michigan, on Wednesday, December 11th and featured the new Chris Van Allsburg movie, “Jumani: The Next Level.”
Donations raised during the evening will help to support the Jo Elyn Nyman Anchors Program for Children which provides services for families facing hard times, including through the Compass Support Program, Perinatal Hospice Care and The Center for Pediatric Research and Education. These initiatives support children and their families with curative treatments, social workers and a range of additional community resources.
World-renowned children’s author and Michigan native Chris Van Allsburg, perhaps best known for the classic book and film, “The Polar Express,” once again partnered with Arbor Hospice and Hospice of Michigan to make the event possible. Chris and his wife Lisa have supported pediatric hospice care through charity screening events for the film versions of Chris’ classic children’s books for over a decade. That legacy continued with the statewide film screening of the 3rd installment in his Jumanji series.
A heartfelt thank you to the Van Allsburgs and to the dedicated healthcare practitioners at Hospice of Michigan. Their collaborative efforts continue to make a difference in countless lives throughout our state.
